Yesterday morning I wake to my 4 year old son telling me that he slipped in water. What? …In my half a sleep thinking state my first thought was he spilled water across the floor and ran through it. I get myself up and wander to the kitchen to find a stream of water across the floor coming from our water cooler. Oh My God! It was like the world ended there. What will I do without the water cooler? I hate using water jugs in the fridge. I don’t like waiting for tap water to get cold. Oh no we need a new water cooler, but this one isn’t even a year. All these thoughts happened in seconds while grabbing the mop. We are a family that drinks a lot of water through out the day, so it was kind of a big deal for me.
Than I got into Handy Man Mama mode and turned to the ever so handy google search and typed “Water cooler leaking for bottom.” I came across a site that had some fixes to water coolers leaking. I read that many leaks are caused by the water bottle on top. Yes, the water bottle. Was that my problem?
How To Check What’s Leaking
1. Pull off the water bottle
2. Leave a little water in the top water reservoir for about 30 minutes
3. Check to see if the water is still at the same level, check to see if it’s still leaking from the bottom. If it’s still leaking you have a problem with the water cooler.
I had found my problem. It was indeed the water bottle that was causing the problem. I would have never guessed. Mr N went out to get a new one and we put it on. The water cooler is back to normal and we are full of water.
