6 Weeks ago I started on a new fitness journey. I’ve been down this road before and for whatever reasons it came to an end quick. That’s the past though and I’m feeling good about it this time around. I decided to eat better and work out. I’m slowly working along this fitness journey and seeing results. Weight is slowly dropping. I have MyFitnessPal set for 1-2lbs loss a week. My main type of exercise at the moment is running. With a side of Yoga and sometimes a workout DVD.
I have never been good at running, but I’m working on it. My goal at the moment is to be able to run 5k. I’m working on that goal with help from my C25K (Couch to 5K)App. This app has been great and I’m seeing improvement. The first week starts off simple enough or so I thought.
Week 1 – Day 1 (Warm Up) Walk 5 mins, 60 seconds of jogging, 90 seconds walking. Alternate for 20 minutes (Cool Down) Walk 5 minutes.
It might not seem like much, but honestly it was rough at first. I was sweating, out of breath & my legs were tired. I pushed through and now on week 6 and I can easily do that now. As the weeks go on the running/jogging intervals get longer while the walking gets shorter. The app only takes 3 days a week with a rest day in between. I personally throw in another fun run on one of the rest days or re-do a day if I wasn’t able to complete it without rests along the way. I actually really enjoy running. If you would have asked me years ago I would laugh and say not a chance.
